Victoria’s Secret is engaged in gambling?

I’ve just found an interesting thread at SEO Chat forums.

Popular website — www.victoriassecret.com — that sells sexy clothes — has been noticed to be #5 in Google by ‘online poker’.

Search engine results aren’t constant, so I’m attaching the screenshot (click the image to view the full sized pic):

Victoria's Secret is #5 in Google by 'online poker'

It’s necessary to say that ‘online poker’ is extremely competitive keyword, and many gambling websites spend thousands per months to get at least in Top 10.

How did Victoria’s Secret manage to obtain this fat position — that’s the question.

Having checking Google cache I haven’t noticed anything wrong — no hidden text, no cloaking etc. I haven’t also noticed any mention of ‘online poker’ at the website itself.

I’m sure that with such sudden appearance in gambling area Victoria’s Secret may find lots of new competitors.

Google Looses Gmail Trademark

I was thinking about the first bug… wanted to post about something really important and interesting… and I got that!

It seems that Google has recently lost Gmail as a trademark.

Frankly speaking I’m not a pro in TM issues, but it seems that it was a big Google’s bug :)

Check out more details here.

I’m not sure what are they going to do now. If Google doesn’t manage to get it back (it’ll probably cost them a lot) they’ll have to leave it and choose another name for their e-mail service.

Though I’ve just logged into my Gmail account and I still see Gmail TM Beta there:

Well… let’s see…
